Cyrano de Bergerac (Peter Dinklage) dazzles with both ferocious wordplay and brilliant swordplay, but is convinced that his appearance makes him unworthy of the love of his devoted friend, Roxanne (Haley Bennett), who has fallen in love at first sight with Christian (Kelvin Harrison Jr.).

Back by popular demand! This is so cool: you create a set of landscapes on cards that can be positioned in any sequence. You draw only landscape, but end up with many. Join us as we host a brass quintet from the The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes!  Learn about brass instruments, meet local musicians, and enjoy live music and stories!  The group will be presenting The Adventures of Pinocchio and other classical pieces.

The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes (OSFL) presents Stories with Music, a free educational concert series returning to Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, and Tioga, NY counties in July and August of 2024. In partnership with area libraries, Stories with Music promotes literacy among young children and students through the powerful connection of music and literature.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

July Summer Reading Program for Adults: Through the Mire: A look at the Environmental History of the Erie Canal with David Brooks of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site.

July 30, 2024 4:00 – 5:30 pm

The Erie Canal was a tremendous undertaking when construction started in 1817. Humans had been interacting with the geology and environment of the region for centuries, but when the digging of the canal commenced, the vastness of the project and the environment that it would cut through became its largest obstacle. Presentation will discuss that topic and how people of the era viewed their environment. (Approx. 45-60 minutes with time for questions)
