Portrait Photography, File Format, and Dynamic Range:
How do we take engaging and flattering pictures of friends, family, and/or pets? This week, we’ll discuss tips and techniques for taking portraits and candid photos. We’ll also revisit file format with an eye to our following class on post processing. We’ll be joined by a model to do some hands-on practice for staging and lighting a formal portrait, with an emphasis on file format.

About the Group:

Photography is a fun and creative pursuit for all ages, whether you use a high-end DSLR, a point and shoot camera, a cell phone, or an old-school film camera.  The Steele Photography Group is a meeting place for photography enthusiasts of all skill levels to share their pictures and learn new skills.  Led by Joe Edkin, a photographer with over 40 years of experience, each gathering will feature a discussion of a specific technical or creative aspect of photography, a hands on demo, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share their work.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras, but it is not a requirement.
