Manipulating Light and File Format:
Photography is the capturing of light.  Most cameras have multiple ways of measuring light in order to create a balanced exposure.  Many also allow you to save your files in different file formats.  The discussion will focus on how cameras measure light and the differences of the file formats.  The discussion will be followed by a hands on demo on how you can manipulate light to creative effect.

About the Group:

Photography is a fun and creative pursuit for all ages, whether you use a high-end DSLR, a point and shoot camera, a cell phone, or an old-school film camera.  The Steele Photography Group is a meeting place for photography enthusiasts of all skill levels to share their pictures and learn new skills.  Led by Joe Edkin, a photographer with over 40 years of experience, each gathering will feature a discussion of a specific technical or creative aspect of photography, a hands on demo, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share their work.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras, but it is not a requirement.

7th to 12th graders!  Need volunteer hours?  Want to (politely) boss adults around? (in other words: help plan and run fun teen events YOU want to have in the teen space? )

You can create displays, decorate the teen area, suggest books and manga for us to order, help set up and clean up for after hours events, and more!
We have fun, eat snacks, and sometimes help out at community library events!

We need YOU to make your teen space reflect your interests and needs!
Interested?
Just show up at a meeting,
ask Cameron or Doris Jean in the teen space or:
